Does CoolApp send my number to my contacts?
CoolApp does not send your phone number to anyone unless you have enabled that others can see it and then you send them a message or make a call to them. Other members of your group chats may see your profile and phone number. The CoolApp service does not have any knowledge of your contacts. Data is all owned by your phone. Registration notifications are never transmitted by anyone in any direction at all; these notifications are created by your phone.
How does CoolApp know my contact is using CoolApp?
CoolApp developed a private contact discovery process that enables CoolApp clients to efficiently and scalably determine whether the contacts in their address book are CoolApp users without revealing the contacts in their address book to the CoolApp service. Once your phone knows which of your contacts is a CoolApp user, it can optionally notify you when a new contact has started using CoolApp .
Why did someone see that I joined CoolApp?
People who already know your number and already have you in their contacts see that they can contact you on CoolApp. Nothing is sent to them by your CoolApp app or the CoolApp service. They just see a number they know is registered. If someone knows how to send you an insecure SMS, we want them to see that they can send you a CoolApp message instead.
Why did I see that my contact joined CoolApp?
You are notified when someone that is stored in your contact list is a new CoolApp user. If you can send an insecure SMS to a contact, we want you to know you can send a CoolApp message instead.
How do I disable alerts that my contact joined CoolApp?
You can disable these alerts on your phone by going to CoolApp Settings > Notifications > scroll to Notify when… and disable Contact joins CoolApp.
How do I know a contact is using CoolApp?
On Android, iOS and Desktop, CoolApp contacts who are stored in your phone’s contact list will be shown as someone you can start a conversation with.
