Follow these steps to manage a group:
- View group members or chat settings
- View admin
- Edit group name or photo
- Add members
- Remove members
- View pending members
- Group troubleshooting
Did you mean to view:
View group members or chat settings #
- Open the group chat.
- Tap on the group name on mobile or menu on desktop to view group settings.
View admin #
- Open the group chat and tap on the group name on mobile or menu on desktop to view group settings.
- Scroll to view the group member list and look for contacts that display Admin next to their name.
Edit the group name, photo, or description #
Admins may select who can edit info.
- Open the group chat and tap on the group name on mobile or menu on desktop to view group settings.
- Tap or Edit in the top corner or by the group name.
- Options:
- Choose a new name
- Choose a new description
- Tap the photo to pick a new photo.
- Tap Save or Update.
- An alert of the change will be posted in the chat for all group members to see.
Add members #
Admins may select who can add others.
- Open the group chat and tap on the group name.
- Select Add members.
- Select contacts or enter numbers.
- If your contact cannot be invited to the group, you will see an alert.
- Select Done or Update.
- Select OK or Add Member to confirm.
- Your contact may need to accept the group invitation before they are added to the group.
Remove members #
Admins may select who can remove others.
- Open the group chat and tap on the group name.
- View the group member list and confirm Admin is indicated next to You. Non-admins can not remove members.
- If you are an admin, tap on the member name.
- Scroll to select Remove from group and select Remove.
View pending Member Requests or Pending Invites #
Admins may select who can manage invites.
- Open the group chat and tap on the group name on mobile or menu on desktop to view group settings.
- Scroll to select select Member Requests & Invites.
